At Akabo United FC, our mission is to unite our community through the power of football, fostering discipline, teamwork, and excellence on and off the field. We are committed to empowering youth by providing opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and athletic excellence. Through structured training, mentorship, and a strong sense of unity, we aim to nurture the next generation of champions who will inspire change and uplift our society.
Our story
Akabo United FC was founded in 2018 in the heart of Akabo, Nigeria, with a clear vision: to inspire excellence and create opportunities for young talents through the beautiful game of football. Born out of a passion for youth development and community upliftment, the club was established as a platform to empower the next generation—helping them discover their potential, harness their skills, and find hope in a brighter future.
Our Operating environment
In the Ikeduru area, youth have limited educational and sporting opportunities. The club operates on the Amajohn pitch and collaborates with local churches, schools, and small businesses.
Our international partners include SC Football Academy (Helsinki), Tiki Taka Football Academy (Abuja/Nigeria/Finland/Sweden), etc. Through partnerships we aim to develop grassroots-level training and provide exemplary and remote mindset coaching.
The club’s operations rely partly on volunteer work, involving churches and our leadership team actively in pitch-level operations and youth guidance. We are developing a community-based model in which parents, local actors, and international partners can participate in supporting youth pathways
We are actively seeking partners in Nigeria and Scandinavia—particularly Finland and Norway—that value education, equality, and community. Potential partners may include schools, sports clubs, cultural organizations, churches, and companies interested in promoting sustainable development, youth welfare, and international solidarity.

Designed to strengthen mental resilience, focus, and goal-setting, the program is accessible online to all team members. Our players are not only trained on the pitch but also empowered through remote courses in leadership, languages, teamwork, and more. These flexible online programs equip them with vital life and career skills.
